Psychometry

   Psychometry is a form of ESP where a psychic touches or holds an object and receives information about the object or its owner.   It is considered the parapsychology phenomenon of distance knowledge.   It has been said that those that have the ability of psychometry also have other abilities such as clairsentience and clairvoyance.

   When a psychic touches an object, he or she can pick up any energy left behind (imprinted) on the object by its owner or those that have touched the object recently.  Some have also said that those who have this ability, also, to some extent, have the ability to heal with their hands also.  

   It is in the never ending sharing of energy that we connect to each other.  The giving and receiving of balance and positive emotion and thought that we can best assist each other.  Psychics gifted with the ability of Psychometry have the ability to also give energy to those that are in a lower vibrational level, enhancing the spiritual and in some cases the physical well-being of the receiver.  

   As of recent times the term Psychometry has been superseded by the term "token object reading", due to the confusion with the psychological term, "Psychometry".  The term, "Token object reading", was coined by Joseph Rodes Buchanan in 1842.  

   According to Joseph Buchanan, 

"The past is entombed in the present, the world is its own enduring monument; and that which is true of its physical is likewise true of its mental career. The discoveries of Psychometry will enable us to explore the history of man, as those of geology enable us to explore the history of the earth. There are mental fossils for psychologists as well as mineral fossils for the geologists; and I believe that hereafter the psychologist and the geologist will go hand in hand, the one portraying the earth, its animals and its vegetation, while the other portrays the human beings who have roamed over its surface in the shadows, and the darkness of primeval barbarism. Aye, the mental telescope is now discovered which may pierce the depths of the past and bring us in full view of the grand and tragic passages of ancient history."
